Evidence-based journalism
Science has a language all of its own and clinical studies can be forbiddingly difficult to comprehend. Consider me the translator. I can not only synthesize complex information for a lay readership, but because I come from outside the research tent, I can also make connections that a narrow focus might preclude.
My recent work has been for the evidence-based holistic health magazine What Doctors Don’t Tell You. Feature articles have included “The Forgiveness Cure” (forgiveness therapy not just as a clinical construct, but a radical way to reimagine the world); “Orchids and dandelions” (the science of highly sensitive people); and “Hunger games” (examining intermittent fasting and depression). Future articles include meditation and neuro-degeneration (how mindfulness practices can help the aging brain).

Journalism
Whether it’s journalism or fiction, a story is only as good as its central premise. Good journalism also never promises more than it can deliver, especially in this age of click-bait. With over 25 years in the Australian media, I have the experience, integrity, and good interviewing technique (based on solid research) to produce stories that make an impact.
Web copywriting
I am especially interested in copywriting in the fields of addiction, psychedelic research and mental health. I bring a wealth of knowledge and direct personal experience to these subjects to lift them above SEO content fodder. I want the work to matter.
